• Hi,

I would like to make a website about filming movies. I already purchased a domain name with GoDaddy. I did not buy hosting yet. I set up a WordPress account and wrote my first blog.

I followed a tutorial on Youtube where the person showed how he made a WordPress account and then went to GoDaddy and added the WordPress’ Name Servers on GoDaddy’s preferences for his website.

If I wanted to make a website where I write about film, upload VIDEO tutorials and have a FORUMS. I just started to getting interested in making a website, and honestly have no idea how to make one. I would really prefer not to spend the time learning code, unless I cannot make the website I wish without it.

    Thanks in advance,
    iKiwi

  • Hi iKiwi,

WordPress is a very easy CMS which you can use to develop such site. It dosen’t need so much of programing language as it has got lots of free stuff online.

    1) You need to take a hosting. Taking linux hosting is better.

    2) Download wordpress
    https://www.ads-software.com/download/

    3) Follow 5 Minute installation guide

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_WordPress#Famous_5-Minute_Install

Once you are through with the above steps, reply to this thread, will explain you how to change themes and activate plugins.

Thanks, I installed WordPress fairly easy. I decided to go with BlueHost as my host who use Linux. I found out how to change themes, but I wanted to make my own. I have seen tutorials on Youtube explaining how once you have all the graphic images set up you can use psd2cssonline to the .PSD file.

Would you know where I would be able to find out the dimensions? It would be even better if you could provide me with a website that has Photoshop templates to use with WordPress for download and then I could go around and change the graphics.

If I wanted to set a up a forum, with my own design, how would I do this?

    Thanks a lot,
    iKiwi

Try using BBPress, it’s what’s driving this support forum! There are also some (or at least one) plugin that actually bridges your WordPress blog/site and your BBPress forum. Not hard at all.

There is a Ebook called “WordPress.complete” read it first before start to make the web site. The book explained everything you need step by step. you can download a copy of that book on Internet as a PDF file also.
