New to WordPress

hey I’m Chris im 19 years old and me and my friends are looking to start up a fantasy sports website and we finally pulled the trigger on getting a host which is ipage.com and through google I understand that the best way to design your website is through wordpress. After all this I soon realized there was a lot to web design and I really don’t know where to start. I was thinking about leatrning code but I dont know what code I would have to learn or how to even use it for that matter I obviously am young and interested and I was wondering if anyone can help me or even point me in the right direction into where to go from here.
