New to wordpress – need to create a portfolio site?

  • Hello, I am brand new to WordPress. I have a portfolio site already created, marelharperdesign.com. I installed wordpress because I would like to re-do my site (it was made 2 years ago) AND I would like to use wordpress as a CMS. I would like to learn and take advantage of what it has to offer.

    First, how do I “integrate” my existing site within WordPress? It doesn’t seem to be utilizing any of WP’s tools, it’s just existing there right now.

    Second, how do I use WordPress to re-design this existing site and have it NOT BE A BLOG AT ALL?? Everything seems so blog-centric. I do not care about blogging, only displaying my portfolio. I really need some beginner tips. I also downloaded Platform Pro but I am finding that confusing as well.

    Please, someone, help!
