new type based on PAGE

Hi there,

I was hoping to create a new custom type which would inherit all the basic formatting from PAGES but I could make these into landing pages (full-width). But even though I clicked to base the new type on page, I find this is not working. It’s picking up the background color and font color settings from my posts, not pages, and worse, it’s got meta stuff like previous and next buttons, which are not on pages. This kind of defeats the purpose. Can you advise?
