I help manage several sites and noticed that on sites that use Astra for their theme, the new update removes the spacing between blocks as you can see in this screenshot. Normally there is more spacing that allows you to add a block in between. When I disable the UAG plugin it works fine. I had to roll the plugin back to 1.25.6 to fix the issue.

    Hey @tajroyer,

    Thanks for writing in!

In Spectra v2.0.0 we have provided a feature for the users to set the spacing in between the blocks in the editor as they want & by default we kept it as 0.

So, can you please check by changing the setting from Settings > Spectra > Settings > Editor Options > Blocks Editor Spacing as you like & it will fix your issue?

Hope it helps, let me know how it goes.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

@rajkiranb what I’d like to know is why doesn’t the plugin respect the theme settings before overriding with a default value of 0? That’s not the type of UX experience anyone would expect.

Thanks @rajkiranb, that did work thanks for the tip. But I agree with @cgscomputers that it shouldn’t overwrite the default without notifying a user, and there should also be a “reset to default” button since there isn’t an on/off toggle for spacing.

    Hey @tajroyer @cgscomputers,

I am glad it worked for you.

Thank you for your suggestions, we really appreciate it.

Also, to answer your question, We have kept it default as 0 because most people like to add a container for each section while designing sites & they manage the spacing between sections using the Container spacing settings.

As Gutenberg adds spacing to all the blocks only in the editor, the design in the editor & front looks inconsistent.

So, we provided a global setting to set the spacing in between blocks in the editor as the user like for his site.

About your suggestion of having a “reset to default” option OR a toggle to enable/disable this feature I will take note of this & discuss this with our team & we will decide how to move further with it.

Hope the above information helps, let me know your thoughts.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hello @tajroyer @cgscomputers,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Thank you!
