I updated the plugin which has worked awesome for me up until this point. When I try hiding Menu options, the radio buttons do not hide what they claim to be controlling. Example: when I click “Comments” it removes the Porfolio from the nav. menu. and when I click Jetpack, it actually removes Testimonials. Any idea why it is behaving in this manner?

I have changed the url-slug of a menu item to a key. On all tests with different users works this fine. Have you update the settings?
The change was a helpful deal to remove also items from stupid plugins, there change the items dynamically.

I am having a similar issue. It was working fine up until the recent update. Can you be more specific about what you mean by “Have you updated the settings?”

Have you updated the settings? – mean, that you resave the settings of Adminimize settings in the database. On this process I write the new keys on the menu items to the database and also the selected checkbox.

If you have the same problem. Maybe you can link screenshots about the settings and the result. Is often much helpful to understand the topic.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. And I really love this plugin!

(Ok, yes. In attempting to fix this issue, I have saved the settings many, many times.)

In my case I have a custom role called “Radio Show Producer”. I have custom post types “Shows” and “Episodes”. I have custom capabilities based on the Shows and Episodes, for example “edit_shows,” “delete_others_epsisodes,” etc.

I would like the Radio Show Producers to be able to see Shows and Episodes menu items, but not much else. Therefore, nearly everything is turned off in that role’s column in Adminimize. This used to work fine, but now I can’t see the Episodes or Shows items, and the Settings and Tools menu items are mistakenly reappearing.

Right now I’m going through all the checkboxes one by one to see when this error happens.

Thanks for any help! I look forward to a fix, but in the mean time, is there any harm in me rolling back to the previous version of Adminimize?

Some additional info: In the Adminimize admin screen, at the top of the Menu section, the “Select All” checkboxes seem to be doubled. There’s a red on and a regular one. I’m linking to a screenshot.

Thanks for your nice answer, helpful.

The double checkboxes is right, the left one, the red is for select all “Group” types. The second one is for all subtypes, below a group.

Please test this new version – https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/adminimize.zip
I have change a lot on the Admin Bar topics and also on Custom Post Type possibilities.
    Thanks for your feedback.

Thank you, I tried the version you linked to but unfortunately it did not fix the issue.

    Just a little more info:

Here is a screenshot of part of the backend menu.

In the Adminimize settings, I have disabled: “Tools”, “Settings”, and “Settings>Sharing” but they still remain as in the screengrab.

More questions. Do you have active this three menu items, right. But no item was hide in the role?
Can you add a Screenshot from the settings area, I like a full page screen, and also the result on an other back-end page, like tools.php
    Thx.

Really sorry, but I had to roll back the plugin to the 1.9.1 version to get it working again for the client. I can try to roll it forward again to the dev version during off-hours sometime soon, and do a screenshot then.

Not sure I totally understand your questions, but in that screenshot, none of those menu items are visible in the 1.9.1 version. They are all expected to be hidden.

Important. I have found a bug today and add a fix for this. You must use the new dev version, same link above (https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/adminimize.zip) to test this again.
    Thanks for your help.

I’ve tried the new dev version, but an issue still persists – I can’t uncheck certain boxes. I can, but they won’t save. E.g. Write options > Post: if I select title for any user, I can’t ever uncheck it and get it to save that way. It checks itself again. Tried clearing all options and re-importing. Same thing.

@digriz01. Do you have this problem no with a older version as the current dev-Version? Maybe your value for max_input_vars is to small in the php.ini? Can you validate the problem in a other install, locally or second install. I have no topic for this, also tests on different installs works fine.
