• We’re setting up a blog based news source at my university. I want university students to reply to the articles on it. But i need to hold people accountable for what they say. If someone drops off “I hate you…##ck you”, it would need to be sent to the Dean of Students.. I’m looking at the documents for user authentication. And i didnt see what i was looking for.

I need to limit users to have email addresses from the university domain only. And they have to use a verification code that is sent to that university email. So that if they misbehave, I have their name, and email address…

Buried at the end… does WordPress support this kind of user authentication?

  • I guess could hack the code a little so that it allows users to register but it sends them a random password to their email address. Should be simple to implement that and checking for the presence of a certain domain only.

Ah. So it would require some code-hacking because this isn’t a native function of WordPress?
