new user – please help

I have just installed this plugin and have a few questions.
I am setting up a non profit organization site and wish to have a gallery where a subscribed member can upload photos and have his/her name associated with the photos. I suppose this means having a separate gallery or album for each user. I did my first test as a new user and I see where the author “admin” (me) was attached to the image.
1) Does each upload have to be approved by admin? I would prefer that each image be immediately published.
2) I uploaded 3 images but only saw one.
3) Where do the images go? Do I have to set up a separate post page for the gallery?
4) How do I display the posted images to the public?
5) Can someone provide a link to a web site that is using nextgen so I can get a feel for what it should look like?

Sorry for the long winded post. Maybe this plugin won’t do what I want so should I be looking at something else.
