• Hello,

We are experiencing an issue with the plugin. When a new user registers on our website, lienresearch.com, a folder is not created for them to upload documents to.

Is there something on our end that we have to do to create their folder? I had previously imported several hundred users onto the website and they all had folders created automatically. That does not seem to be the case anymore and we are not able to download any files to our new users.

Is there anyway to get those folders to be created automatically? What steps do we need to take?

    Thanks so much

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey Twebteam,

You can set folder templates with premium. Check out https://smartypantsplugins.com/downloads/wordpress-project-document-manager-plugin/

    Hello,

I do not need to set up folder templates for new users. I just need them to appear in the drop down list so that I am able to upload files to them.

Does the free version not even create a base upload folder for new users? I thought it had previously done this as when I imported all my users from my old website, each imported user had a base folder that I could upload documents to.

I don’t need specific sub-folders to be set.

    Thank you

Hey no sorry the free version does not do that, you would need premium

    Hello,

Okay no problem! It seems a little odd though that upload folders do get created for users sometimes, but not every user gets one on registration.

So the only way to be able to assign specific documents to specific users is with the premium version of the plugin?

    Thanks so much

Right by default with community you cannot set a default list of folders. With the premium version you can designate a template of folders based off an existing folder structure and on register that user will have those folders

If you wanted to share a single set of folders (instead of creating multiple sets of folders) between multiple users you would need the groups addon to do that.

    Hello,

Thank you for that information. We use a registration plugin on our website that we believe is causing a conflict with the document manager.

When we disable the registration plugin, when a new user registers on the website, they have a folder created for them for us to assign documents to. But this is not the usual functionality of the free version of the plugin?

    Hello,

We have had multiple instances where we have registered a new user on a website with the registration plugin and FREE SP Document plugin installed and new users were created and were able to have documents assigned to them. So it appears to me like this is a part of the free versions functionality. If the free version is not capable of this then how would we assign documents to users like the plugin page says.

Any clarification would help. We just want to be able to assign documents to our new users but they will not appear on the User Files list after registration.

    Thank you

The free version allows you to manually add folders and files to a user.

Your previous request (create folders when a user registers) is a premium feature.

By default each user has their own area

    Hello,

Thank you for the clarification. However, even so I am unable to even manually add folders and files to new users after they register. They do not appear on the list for me to assign documents to.

    Thank you

Additionally, I am concerned that once we do manage to resolve this conflict, users that registered while the issue was occuring will be orphaned and will have no way to have documents assigned to them.

Is there any information you can give on how to allow new users to have documents assigned to them?

    Thank you
