    I wonder if you can help me? I’ve set up s2member with Paypal Standard and all the settings within s2member seem to be correct. When a new user buys, they get redirected to Paypal (they then receive a Paypal receipt email) and then are redirected back to the site to register a username. At that point they are told to check there email but they are not getting a confirmation email from our site. They are also not receiving their password. I’ve ran a few different tests and sometimes the password email comes through but not always. The confirmation email has never come through.

    Can you let me know what you think the issue may be? Is it a server issue?

  • I’m having the same exact issue. I even turned on the logging and one issue that I see with the paypal issue is the following. You might have the same issue but can a support moderator confirm this and tell us how to change it?

    Why is it saying “Duplicate IPN” or “Not processing”? I think this is where we both are having the issue!

    Keep logging enabled too, please. Does the IPN entry for the transaction mention the Signup Confirmation Email having been sent? WP Admin -> s2Member -> Log Files

    Sometimes s2Member gets the same notification twice, so the second one needs to be ignored.

    Are you getting that with every transaction or just sometimes?

    I am also having this issue, new users (manually created) or imported are not getting confirmation emails of their accounts.

    I’ve confirmed email settings and also double checked to make sure I’m not having server issues.

    When you import with s2Member Pro, no emails are sent to the users about it, you’ll have to email them separately.

    If you create his account with WordPress, you need to check the “Send Password” checkbox to have WP send him the New User email.

    Thank you for your response. So far I haven’t been able to find the source of the problem. Do you ever offer paid support? I think I will need assistance in finding what could be wrong. If not, perhaps you can recommend someone familiar troubleshooting with this plug-in?

    Hi, I have the same issue here. I have tripple checked every setting. Go to through the S2member setup tutorial 3 times.
    Tried all suggestions on https://www.s2member.com/kb/troubleshooting-email-delivery-problems/ and https://www.s2member.com/kb/common-troubleshooting-tips/

    I did the mail check (Created a new user) this was registered in the logfile. When paying through paypal and landing back to the site there was no registration that the email was send or tried to send.

    Also did the server check (Result all Green)

    Because I have multiple sites using the same paypal account I can’t set IPN in the PayPal settings, but I did try it and when I had that set in paypal it worked. Turned IPN off in PayPal again and again I get the wait for email message.

    I know it worked before because a few month back I tested S2Member on another demo site of mine and it worked. Now I can’t get it to work anymore.

    Hi Andrew,

    Not sure if this is the answer but I noticed in your log files you are running WP 4.1 and I think it got a little buggy with the version of S2Member you have shown in the log files.

    S2Member just released version 15102 today (2015-01-02) and it is a long shot but worth mentioning it just in case.

    By the way, I’d recommend using the Email Log plugin now, rather than the WP Mail Log plugin referred to in one of the links, because the latter is a bit out of date now.

    Yes, I tried all the aforementioned troubleshooting, even the new email logging plugin.

    My log (the same as Andrew’s) doesn’t contain any IPN or “Email confirmation” info at all.

    What is shown in Email Log’s logs?

    I am having similar problems. No email message sent on level change. It worked until recently, then mysteriously quit.

    I have been through all the troubleshooting steps. I’ve run s2 server scanner, including sending a test email.

    I am running WP 4.1, s2 pro v150102.

    The log file shows that s2 thinks it is sending the confirmation message:

    The plugin WP Mail Log shows no call to WP to send a confirmation message. The mail log plugin is logging all other messages sent by WP so it is working properly.

    This is becoming an urgent problem.
