is there a way to not include de-activated users in the mass messaging? Our site retains old non-paying users in the database but would prefer to NOT keep emailing/messaging them.

At the moment your plugin appears to work on a dev site (as superadmin and as admin – haven’t tested other roles). Haven’t tested for de-activated users as per @rednites suggestion which is very sensible.

A copy / fork ?? has appeared here though i have not been successful with it.

The most important update is compatibility with the latest WP version. The functionality I am most in need of is messaging users in specific Buddypress groups.

I must admit that I haven’t used your plugin, but it is the only one that addresses my requirements. Once I can give the plugin a spin I am sure I will be able to come up with a list of further improvements ??

I’ve heard reports that it does work with the current versions, but this hasn’t been tested thoroughly. Once I have finished this version I’ll publish it as version 2.0.0 and make sure that it works with all the latest versions of both WordPress and Buddypress.

One suggestion for future development. The ability to paginate the list of members.

We have over a thousand members which makes the email list very, very long. I’d prefer an option to paginate the list of users to make it easier to work with.

I’ll definitely look into a solution to reduce the length of the page!

the plugin looks promising, but I have private messaging component of bp disabled, so can’t get access to mass messaging from front-end. could it be resolved?

Also does it already support translations? I will have to translate it for sure.

It is designed with translations in mind but have not set it up to be able to yet. I’ll try and sneak this out with the next update if I can. Once it is ready I’ll add it in the changelog.

With PMs disabled I am not sure how it would work? The whole idea is that this is basically a mass PM sender. How would it be intended to be used?
