New Version 5.2.0 broke 2 of my websites

  • Immediately after installing the new version, i.e. V5.2.0, optimization problems started to emerge on 2 of my websites with many heavy render-blocking elements. What’s worse, some front-end features, such as live chat, back to top button, and the drop-down menus on the admin bar disappeared. I also tried the temporary solution in my functions.php file without any success.

    Hi @lelb,

    Please make sure temporary solution you applied in your current active theme functions.php file. It worked for other users.

    Also make sure you have cleared cache if any cache plugin is active.

    If still issue can you share your website url using https://pastebin.com/

    Just to addon to this a more permanent solution is currently going through testing, once testing has passed I can share a pre release zip here.

    The zip can be used until the release of 5.2.1 is available.

    Thank you for your prompt response. Cache is not active for logged-in users on my 2 websites affected by the new version. I guess it automatically disable some JS. I have to go to the back end of the websites to create new posts, go to widgets page, etc. as the front-end admin bar is without any submenu, live chat or even back to top button. The temporary solution did not work for me. I had to opt for the previous version: V5.1.9 and all the issues were resolved. My site at LELB.net is now 100% optimized on PageSpeed Insights, while on Version 5.2.0, it was 60% optimized. I think I should wait for the next update to your plugin or try to find a substitute for it, which I don’t like very much.

    Version 5.2.1 has just been released.

    That should resolve the optimisation issue for you.
