Hello Jason! I hope you are well.

I literally updated in the first hour of the update release ??
I can confirm that those 2 issues we talked about are now resolved and I thank you and your team, very very much!

However, I’ve seen that the tracking options of internal and outbound links have been removed. Do you think you can re-enable them in a future update please, because I really do not want to have all this code in my source for everyone to see:

    data-slimstat-clicked=”false” data-slimstat-type=”2″ data-slimstat-tracking=”false” data-slimstat-callback=”false”>

And most important because I think it adds load time as well.

Or maybe you can tell me if it can be done manually by altering some code.

    Please let me know.
    Thanks again!!

Please note that those data attributes are only added at runtime, and will not be displayed to people who look at the source code. They will only be visible if you inspect the page with tools like Webmaster Tools. As for the performance impact, please do not worry about that, as data attributes really don’t have any side effect on that. I’ll be more than happy to review any documentation or literature that might say otherwise.

However, if we will get a lot of pushback from our users on this, we might consider reintroducing this feature. From what we’ve seen, based on the feedback we’ve received, people were mostly getting confused by those settings.

    Best,
    Jason

Yeah sorry, I meant to say Webmaster Tools/Inspect Element.
Still it’d be great if you could tell me how to disable those two options that got removed.

    Anyway, something more important now!
I noticed a new major bug in the new version that affects my theme.
I have dropdown menus that no longer work when I activate the new version of Slim Stat.
I’m sure because it’s the only plugin active and I rolled back to the previous version to make sure as well, and it worked fine.

The theme is Arcade by Bavotosan, here’s the link, if you can test it out it would be really great!

    https://www.ads-software.com/themes/arcade-basic/

I’m sure this affects other themes as well.

Please let me know when you can.
    Thanks again!

Are you using the CDN option for linking the Javascript tracker? We just refreshed the cache on our network, which apparently was still serving the old version of the script. Can you try again?

As for the inline data attributes, there is no way to deactivate that feature as of now. Again, if more people bring up this issue, we’ll be happy to reconsider our move.

Yes, the “Enable CDN – Use JSDelivr’s CDN….” is On.
I deactivated, re-activated it couple of times and still the problem persists- Dropdown menus still not working. The “Arcade” theme I’m using is built using Bootstrap if that helps.

Also, I’m sorry to bring it up, but I have yet another issue as well with the new version.

When I press CTRL+left mouse click for a new page/post to open in a new tab, it opens a new tab but it also opens it in the current page as well, so it’s like as if I pressed just the left click. This happens with the default wordpress theme “Twenty Sixteen” too.

Those two problems happen to my localhost also that I’m using for testing purposes.

What’s the URL of the site where you’re using Arcade? Can I run some tests? Are you excluding the menu in the NO CALLBACK field in Slimstat?

As for the CTRL+left click, this is currently a known issue, and on our to-do list.

    Best,
    Jason

My site is under construction but I can give you access if you can give me your email.
No, I’m NOT excluding it, didn’t have to, in the previous version.

    You will have to, now.

Ok, excluding “dropdown-toggle” seems to have fixed it ??

Unfortunately browser support is spotty right now for the solution we have in mind.

Please do reconsider, on my site https://www.starry-night.nl the javascript for social share do not fold open, many upload fuctions don’t work the first time, but only when triggered twice.
The bizarre thing … I didn’t even upgrade the plugin to the latest version, seems some new javascript is distributed?

@catmaniax and @mth75, would you like to test our next version, which introduces a brand-new Javascript tracker which FINALLY gets rid of the “No Callback” annoyance? If so, please contact us at https://support.wp-slimstat.com and I’ll send you a copy of the new version for you to test, along with the instructions on how to use the new feature. What do you say?

@mth75, good point about the new javascript being served to users still using the old version, we are going to fix this in the next update. Thank you for pointing it out.

    Best,
    Jason.

    You’re welcome Jason ?? … I volunteered with a ticket ??
