• At first you removed many features switching from version 2 to version 3.
Now you removed open and click statistics which were a free feature until version 3.2.x.
Current premium rates are not affordable in many use case.
I understand your point but you won’t create any “sustainable business” if users fly away.
And I’m sure you’ll agree with me that it’s not nice when you make people pay for something you used to give for free.

  • We think you’re partly right, and we might readjust our pricing free feature set in the near future.

We’re as cheap as 8 dollars per month, or almost.

What would it take for you to spend on a plugin like ours?

For me, as a developer of an open-source free product with a very small user base, it would take a mid-range product (Mailpoet 2.5?), with basic user-level statistics and a price point of (say) $50 – ideally a one-off payment, not annual.

    Kiwi, thanks for this feedback.

It’s hard for us to sustain a product on such small amounts. Our entry price is free, then $10. It’s actually not that much money considering:

    1. Time saved using MailPoet
    2. Time to configure it
    3. Practicality
    4. Reliability

A standard WordPress consultant costs about $50 per hour in comparison. You get access to our support team in the price.

So the question begs: do you really value MailPoet at just $50?

I wish I could say no – but given that it runs on a free software platform (WordPress) then I’m afraid I must, especially when my own product is, like WordPress, provided for free.

But as I’ve said elsewhere, I have no issue with you making money. I just disagree a little with your determination of where the free vs pro/paid versions differ. I’d like to see the same basic stats in MP3 as you gave for free in MP2.

It’s a joke? I will pay a full autoresponder service, with many other options for 12€/mot.
