New Website…Suggestions or Ideas?

  • I just started my new website about MHA degree programs. You can find it at https://www.mhaguide.com. Any suggestions or ideas to make it look better? It still looks old to me rather than new and I am looking for some design tips.

  • For a start removing the adsense ads would make it look more professional, plus that square adsense block in the middle messes up your whole site – see what happens when you adjust the width or your browser.

    There are also plenty of stylish business / cms style theme around if you want a more modern professional look.

    There are quite a few things you can do to make your blog better.

    1) Your ads are well placed, but not as well blended. Make the color of your ads as black. Then it will blend well with the rest of the content.

    2) Usually, front page ads do not convert that well, try putting your ads in the blog posts.

    3) Use social media to promote your blog posts. Put some social media buttons on your posts.

    4) Get a better logo. This one is good, simple with web 2.0 reflecting and shinny… but a more brandable logo will help further, something creative.

    overall, it is a good start,

    Any idea how to move the homepage adsense (the one in next to the text) up a little bit to be more in line with the text?

    Yeah, you are right, that ad is perhaps a few lines down, it should come up. what plugin are you using to put that ad?
