• We are beta testing the new widget layout / design. What would be the best way to use this wordpress plugin – while using the new “beta” widget code? I’m sure I can edit / manually swap out the code in the plugin…but I thought I’d check with the forum first.

    I’d like to continue to use the WP plug for Zopim…and test the new widget too. I have the new “code” to use on my site…just need to know what your thoughts are. THANKS!

    Currently we have not updated our Zopim plugin in WordPress to the new version of widget yet. The only way to test right now is manually change the code. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

    We will update the plugin soon. However there is no ETA for it yet.

    In the meantime, pls let us know if you have any feedback on the new widget.

    For anyone who wants to modify the plugin you can change line 57 of /wp-content/plugins/zopim-live-chat/zopim.php to:

    $.src='//v2.zopim.com/?1Q0zfdY14Q1tvv0PFfzS9SAstxN8bZX4';z.t=+new Date;$.

    Can you tell me when the plugin will be updated with the latest mobile friendly widget code – it seems the zopim have now released the code and it is out of beta.

    Sorry for the late reply. Currently the plugin is not updated yet with the mobile friendly widget. However, you may do away with the plugin and install Zopim by another way.

    I assume you already have a Zopim account. You may proceed to Zopim dashboard and switch to the latest widget, get the new widget code and follow the steps over here

    Hi bencxr – this is a terrible way of doing it, because when the theme is upgraded (and it will be) all the changes will be lost and need adding again, and if it was a while ago it will probably be forgotten. The best thing to do would be to get the plugin updated as soon as possible.

    From what Ed posted above, updating the plugin is a 2 minute process… Why has it taken so long?

    You don’t have to add the Zopim widget code again each time the widget gets an update =)

    Unlike the plugin, we’ll update the code in our end so you don’t have to worry about adding the code each time we update the widget.

    When upgrading a theme all changes are overwritten, including zopim code in the theme footer, the widget is the best way forward, so why is it taking so long to update?

    Ive tried editing line 57 of the code and had a problem, Ive now realised that line needs to be different for each account so make sure to not just use the code pasted above, get your own from the widget area in Zopim.

    Now Im trying to figure out how to chage the “customer support” label I get below my name in the chat window, cant see that anywhere…
