Hi, we’re building a new WP website and would like to export all the Events Manager date from the old WP website and import into the new one. How would you recommend doing this? Thanks.

  • Hi,

Is the new website brand new, without any existing content?

It’s brand new and we’re building the content now which is going to be different from the old one. There are no events at all yet.

another way is to use phpmyadmin and then you can export tables with prefix wp_em_* and then you might need to include wp_posts links to table em_events since EM is using custom post types.

Thanks for the suggestion. So it’s not only tables with wp_em_ prefix, also need records from wp_posts with post type events?

Yes, if it’s a new site, the easiest and safest way to do it would be to use phpMyAdmin to export and import all the database tables.

Thanks. I probably won’t do that. While it’s a new site, there’s content that is being put in and I don’t want to mess with the wp_posts table. I’ll just resort to doing it manually. Hopefully there will be a better way in the future.
