    Hi & thanks ahead –

Just did WP 3.6 upgrade and now have error in the new wp_nav_menu function.
The edit menu dashboard (sidebar boxes for pages, links, cats) is not clicking through (no action).
Right now we can’t put any new post subcat in our Menu Structure that puts dropdown cats in our header sections.
Here’s our php error log that came just after WP3.6 upgrade:

[13-Aug-2013 07:27:34 UTC] PHP Warning: copy(/home/XXX/public_html/index.php) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/XXX/public_html/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 200

It may be a jquery problem. Not sure. Does anyone know a work-around for this or a plugin we can add to overwrite this fail? Or do you suggest a reinstall of WP?

    thx again for all ideas

    Thanks govpatel –

We are a medium large human rights niched news network connected to the UN with a very customized theme. Would be worried to switch themes during heavier viewer hours. Could you tell us what code bad would indicate functions problem inside menu edit functions? We can check for a difference in both themes functions.php.

That’s impossible to determine at this point. There is no magic bullet in these situations. This is just the start of basic troubleshooting and is a process of elimination deliberately designed to locate the root cause as quickly as possible by first removing the most obvious and common culprits via a series of (often) temporary steps.

Do you want to locate and, hopefully, fix the problem on your site? If “yes”, then please help us to help you and carry out the changes that we suggest. Your theme & plugin settings are saved in your database and should be retained for future use.
