What a disaster. I installed the Advanced TinyMCE Editor plug in and when it didn’t work I deleted it. In the process I think I may have screwed things up royally. I remember the process asking for a css to open up in write window for on-the-spot editing and I clicked that – when I decided I didn’t want to bother with Adv TinyMCE anymore I figured just deleting the necessary directories would simply erase what I’d tried to do, no harm done. The plug in is no longer showing up in my Plugins list, however my Write editor is completely crazy.

Now when I go to my Post Editor (write post) I get:

‘Internet Explorer cannot open something something https://www.lizzieshome.com/wp-admin/post-new.php’

I searched here on the forums and someone mentioned changing the WordPress address and Blog address (in Options) from https://lizzieshome.com to https://www.lizzieshome.com (for both). That removed the error, but it also took ALL the tabs at the top of the compose window – none of the original buttons at all. At last look I had a portion of my home page showing up in the editing window which is confusing because if it’s tied up with the TinyMCE install/css thing I assumed I’d removed it – why is it still showing up if I got rid of the plugin?

Also, when I checked my directories in FileZilla in amongst all this, I couldn’t for the life of me find the /tinymce subdirectory. If I’ve (ahem) deleted that, what are my options??? I’m about ready to scream.

    Cheers,
    Lizzie
