newbie dumb shortcode questtion

  • I am trying to insert a shortcode to allow the Gallery by BestWebSoft to use the gallery slideshow by jethin but I really don’t know much about shortcodes.

    [gallery columns="3" ids="1,2,3"]
    becomes:
    [gss ids=”1,2,3″]

    I really don’t where to put that. I tried putting it in the page above the gallery but all I get is non functional arrows showing up.
    There a little dialog box stating I was looking for a blue flag to edit this shortcode but I can’t find it.
    Like I said I am very new to this.
