Possibly I am just completely misunderstanding this plugin.
I installed it [and activated it], but I find no evidence anywhere that it is running. Somewhere I saw that I was supposed to go to Settings/reading and set the default sidebar. I did that – to sidebar-blog, then went to page/edit. I tried bot6h the built-in editor, and PlugNedit but I do not see anything changed or added.

My goal is to add text blocks in the sidebar on selected pages only. Your plugin says that is what it does, but I can’t even get started.
I would most appreciate a bit of help to get started.
    Regards,
    George

    Hi George,

The sidebar you select on the Settings -> Reading page will be replaced with any custom sidebars, so if your blog sidebar isn’t the one you want to replace, then you need to select the appropriate default sidebar.

After selecting the default sidebar, you need to edit the page you want to use a custom sidebar and look for the “Sidebar” meta box to add or select a custom sidebar. Then you’ll need to go to the Appearance -> Widget screen to add widgets to your new sidebar.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers,
    Brady

Brady, thank you for the very fast response!
Unfortunately, I am in a bit over my head right now.
I went back to settings/reading and set the default sidebar as sidebar_1.
Then I went to appearance and moved a Meta to sidebar_1 [I called it “join”]. In the list of pages, now I see “Join” under sidebar for the page I selected. I think so far, so good.
But now how do I edit “join” to be what I need? That may be the step I am not understanding. I have looked everywhere, and I do not see how to modify the empty meta widget, or do anything with it. Basically, I need text and an image with an attached link in this sidebar

It sounds like you might be missing a step in there. Someone recorded a video and put it on YouTube that may help. You can skip the part about the menu from 2:50 to about 4:05.

Brady, I am feeling really stupid about now.
could I pay you to set up one page for me so I can see what all of the settings must be?
I am just going in circles, and wasting time. no matter what I do, the only sidebar that shows up is the default. I added a blank text widget there just to eliminate the warning I was getting about adding something to it.
    Thank you kindly,
    George

Get in touch with me through the contact form here and I’ll see what I can do. It sounds like changes may need to be made to your theme.

    Cheers,
    Brady
