• Hello.

    New to word press. In the process of creating a site for family. Currently I am wondering how to edit the home page? If you click on Home it displays: “Not Found Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post.”

    I am under the Pages in the admin panel, but it displays the pages (tabs) i have added. I don’t see the Home page to edit. any ideas because I really dont want that to be the Home page when family members come to the site. Thank you

  • you don’t have any posts – that is causing the message.

    the template for the homepage is index.php – (the homepage is not a page in the sense of static pages) – you can edit the template to change the design.

    you can set a static page to be on the front:

    Great! Thank you alchymyth for your help. Another newbie question. How do I get rid of the Reply box on the home page?

    you need to deactivate comments for that page:

    there is ‘dashboard’ ‘settings’ ‘discussion’

    and then there is the individual ‘discussion’ field below the page editor in the ‘edit page’ page;
    if that does not show, you need to activate it in the ‘screen options’ near the top right of that page.

    Thanks for your reply again alchymyth. I am still looking for what you are referring to.

    Ok. I found the screen options (had to deactive the Jetpack to see it). But under the screen options for the home page..I unchecked everything, but still see discussion on home page.
