I have NO CLUE how to use this, I’m guessing as I go. So I create the popup and ask it to have a Custom URL on the Page Links To part…to another page on my website. I insert the code on the page I want it to show up on (why do I select the page on the right during popup creation if it doesn’t create it there or somewhere??).

When I run the popup on that page, and click the link on it, that I guess is supposed to be the custom URL I specified in the popup settings, it appends the main page the popup is on, AND then the custom..so therefore is a dead link.

Help? You need to write an “I’ve never even SEEN any plugin like this befoer, how do I use it?” guide…

@hmeader – Sounds like there are additional fields being added by another plugin or theme. We have no Custom URL or page links to parts, nor do you insert code on any pages. That all sounds like something else entirely.

You are correct in assuming that selecting On Pages -> On Selected Pages -> Checking pages and clicking Add selected will then cause the popup to become available / loaded on those pages.

PS we have some pretty basic docs in our getting started section, not sure if you found that or not. Maybe it just wasn’t clear enough.

If you want the popup to open automatically then you also need to enable the Auto Open checkbox.

If you want it to open on click of some page content you can use the shortcode like this

    [popup_trigger id="123"] Click Me [/popup_trigger]

As long as the popup is loaded on the page that will work to make clickable text. You need to change 123 to match your popup ID # which can be found at Popup Maker -> All Popups in the Classes column.

We are aware of the learning curve and over the next few major updates are addressing these issues. For instance in v1.4b Targeting Conditions default to work everywhere, triggers are all in one place etc.

So any feedback is greatly appreciated.
