newbie question – updates to page not displaying

  • This is probably a newbie question. I inherited a static WP site. So I do not do regular posts. But I do need to update some of the existing pages.

    I pulled up a page I want to change the text in. I keyed in my changes. But they do not show up anywhere. I do a page preview and see the old page. I did an update – but still the old page. I existed the page and went back into it in edit – it still has my changes – but a preview or page visit still show the old page. How do I publish my changes so they show up online.

    OK – I have found something else out. I have determined that if I use a default theme the correct or updated page is displayed. But going back to my modified theme it still shows the old version. How can this be?

    Not exactly sure what I really did to fix it. The last thing I did was go into the database and realized that even though the page showed the updates in the WP page update screen in the actual database it did not. So I manually added my changes to the record in the database.
