Newbie questions

  • Hi,

    I am evaluating the customizr and hueman themes, and find them very useful, thanks for creating these great products!

    I have couple questions

    1. Can we have our own brand, white label? Cannot find relevant articles on this in your documentation.

    2. It seems that only customizr theme support custom post type and custom taxonomy. The hueman them cannot recognize the custom objects. How to use custom post types/taxonomy in hueman theme?

  • OK, I am a complete newbie with WordPress. I am relatively tech savvy (taught Computer Science for 32 years at Penn State, have worked in Information Systems since 1967). Also, I maintain a fairly sophisticated Drupal site for PSMLA (pmsmla.org) . I have been asked by my daughter and granddaughter to make some changes to a site for an organization with which they are associated. Hmm, piece of cake I thought. Not so! I log in to the site, click on pages, select a page, click on edit and get what looks like a layout template. At the top it says Use Default Editor and Use Visual Builder. If I click on default editor, I get a question, “Disable Builder”. Hmm sounds like a bad idea! So, I try Visual Builder. I get the text, but it doesn’t let me edit it. I can load from library, save to library, clear layout, collapse settings etc. Why is it so hard to to do something a simple as edit a page? I’ve been tracking around for days trying to find the secret button. I’ve Googled “edit a page in WordPress” all the examples tell me to click on links that I don’t see on my page or if they do, what appears is not what they say will appear. ?Dios mio, me confunde! HELP!

    1) Always start a new topic. No one can help you when you’re piggybacking on another. You’re also taking @ngpakhook’s query off track.

    2) This forum is for a WordPress Theme called Customizr. I don’t believe you’re asking about Customizr. If not, you’d need a general WordPress forum.

    I actually suspect you’re not using WordPress because you’re saying Use Visual Builder. That sounds like a proprietary website builder. Unless that’s a feature of a theme. But it’s not a feature in Customizr.

    In WordPress there’s a sidebar. You look there and click Themes. That’s where you’ll learn what WordPress Theme you’re using.

    View the page in FireFox or Safari or certain other browsers. Search the code for the word wordpress. If not there, you’re not in a wordpress site.

    I’m sorry, but I did find out that it is WordPress 4.9.7 running Divi theme. I found the forum for that theme. I don’t see how to start a new topic. Apologies to ngpakhook. I will get out of your topic as soon as I can. Forgive me. I am truly a newbie on this blog.

    But be sure to check which tools you’re using and ask in the appropriate forum. Here, you’ll get help with Customizr but not non-Customizr-specific WordPress queries.
