    Hi all

I’m totally new to wp and woo, been with shopify many years but constant checkout issues we need to move from there asap.

We have two stores and the reason is Brexit, our main uk store and a recent one operating out of a warehouse in the EU in euros selling items we can’t ship from the UK to the EU, tried the markets feature but that’s not for brexit only for cross border really and had developers and shopify support agree has to be 2 stores, tried to have 2 locations in one store that didn’t work either as shopify can’t currently allocate say an order from France to the EU warehouse and UK orders only to uk warehouse…trust me we tried every which way.. you can have 2 locations yes but it can’t split where orders come from to a certain location and shopify admit that… brexit issue again…is there a way on woo 2 have separate stock in 2 locations so uk and EU warehouses and orders get allocated based on shipping or billing to the specific location to fulfill? Or again need to create 2 stores on woo and multisite I’m told wouldn’t quite work either??

All help greatly appreciated I’m losing lots every day on shopify and need to move soon to save my sanity and feed my large young family….

    Thanks Justin.

  • you may explore this extension

this can help you to get started. apart from this you will need lot of custom coding to keep things working and this is open source and any update can break anything. so keep that in mind. What you looking for is a complex but achievable.

    Hi

Thanks for that, so would you do that or run two stores separately for reason stated?

    Hello @ukpreppingshop,

Thanks for that, so would you do that or run two stores separately for reason stated?

If I may suggest, I think having everything in one store would be a much better option. :?)

Also, you might find the following guide useful on how to adjust your WooCommerce store for Brexit: https://woo.com/document/ready-for-brexit-a-guide-for-woocommerce-store-owners/

Look forward to hearing back from you.

    Hi

Thanks, my snag hence separate stores is that I have stock in the EU fulfilled by the eu warehouse… so not exporting to eu… issues exporting freeze dried foods containing meat or dairy hence holding it in the eu and a store marketing to eu… think its back to two stores, obe for uk market and uk fulfilment and eu…

    Hi @ukpreppingshop

Based on your explanation, it sounds like you need a solution that allows you to manage inventory in two different locations (UK and EU) and allocate orders based on shipping or billing to the specific location.

With WooCommerce, you can achieve this by using a multi-warehouse solution. Many plugins are available to manage Multi Warehouse in WooCommerce, which allows you to manage multiple warehouses, assign products to different warehouses, and automatically calculate shipping rates based on the customer’s location.

However, if you prefer to run two separate stores, WooCommerce can also support this. You can use the multi-site feature to manage multiple stores from a single WordPress installation. This could give you more control over each store and may better fit your business model.

In addition, I recommend checking out our WooCommerce Shipping extension. This could help you manage shipping options and rates more effectively and potentially save you some time and effort.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to ask.

    Hi @ukpreppingshop

If you feel that running two separate stores might be easier for your business model, then you should definitely go for it. WooCommerce fully supports this approach with the multi-site feature, which allows you to manage multiple stores from a single WordPress installation.

You can use plugins like Central Stock for WooCommerce or WooMultistore to manage stock across different stores. These plugins will help you track your inventory in the UK and EU.

Remember, the most important thing is to choose the solution that best fits your business needs and makes your work easier.

If you need any further assistance or have any other questions, feel free to ask. We’re here to help!
