    Greetings All –

I am a total and complete newby when it comes to designing a website. This is my very first. I have done very well figuring this out on my own so far, but now I am entering into some more complex functions and have NO clue how to proceed.

I want to use the “Members List” plugin on a couple different pages. The download site for the plugin says I need to have an author.php template in my Themes section. Okay… Research here appears to indicate that I need to create said template, but in order to use/create the author.php template it seems I need to be “In The Loop” or have an index.php template. ??? Now I’m totally and completely lost. Every “help” page just keeps sending me someplace else, and nothing seems to explain how to actually create the template I need. So…

Is there someone out there who can boil this down to s relatively simple, step by step set of instructions on how to create the author.php template? You know, a “go to your themes; click this; type that; press enter; done” type of instructions.

Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help this newby along.

Okay… I’ve successfully created one of the two forms I need using Contact Form 7. It took a little while to get the gist of it, especially integrating it into an email response, but I did finally succeeed.

I’ve also been playing around with TablePress and getting some very good results with customized colors, sizes, etc…

    Here’s a few lesser annoyances I am running into…
How on God’s green earth do I get rid of those blasted, annoying, ever present Widgets? This site will not be used as a blog, so I don’t need to see “Recent Articles” ever present on every page, let alone the “Meta” information, etc… I’ve scoured the help forums, and tried several different things – including diabling all widgets in my style sheet. Nothing has worked. GRRRR!!!!!

I’m using the “Background Manager” to customize the appearance of my page. I was able to insert a nice picture into the background of each page, but I want the primary field area to not be solid white – and I cannot seem to overcome that. I’d like to set the opacity at, say, 75-80% so you can still read the text, but so the background image is somewhat visible. I have, again, scoured the help forums today and nothing has worked.

Finally, all indications are that with the TablePress plugin my visitors should be able to download/export a table from my site as a .csv or other data file. I’m having no luck convincing TablePress to allow that option.

    Any thoughts?

I am having the same issue. In previous themes I had an option to use a full page with no side bar in “Page Attributes” In 2013 there is not an option– So I have front page widget/sidebar showing up on everything–ugh.

I had to change from another theme to 2013 to have easy audio embeds on posts…
    This is too much!!
