Modify my site’s colors

  • Take a look at the home page of that web site. It was built using Yahoo’s SiteBuilder, which they no longer support. So I want to move it, rebuild it using WordPress.

    I want to choose size of page, background color, move picture here, text there, menu there, etc.

    I am at a loss for what I should choose for a “Theme” in WordPress.

    Choose a theme is more a personal choice. If you asked 20 people here what the best starter theme is, you’d likely get 20 different answers.

    I recommend clicking the “Feature Filter” button at https://www.ads-software.com/themes/browse/new/ to narrow down your options. Every theme there is free, so you can try them all out until you find one you like.

    I also recommend checking “Accessibility Ready” in the feature filter. This will narrow down your choices by quite a bit, and the resulting theme will allow visitors using screen readers to navigate your site.
