Newer posts have stronger shade of colour

    I’m working on a theme for my site – https://doodlebug.josephlavington.com/

    I was wondering whether it would be possible for the newest posts to have a stronger shade of a particular colour the newer they are in a sort of gradient look.

    So imagine…
    Newest Post – Full Yellow Background
    Next Newest Post – Half Yellow Background (imagine 50% opacity)
    Next Newest Post – Quarter Yellow Background (25% opacity)
    Next Post – White background

    I hope you get what I mean!
