    Hi Peter,

In some of my tables/views I defined textual columns, which are supposed to allow the users to enter “long contents”, which of course could also include “newlines” (I mean: the <br/> tag in HTML).

The common example is a “description” or “notes” field, where you can typically enter some sentences, organized and/or “spaced” in different rows, just using newlines.

When one of those tables are used in a Data Project, in the “list view”, the newlines disappear… (they are replaced with spaces).
Is there some options that I should set in order to avoid this behavior?

Any kind of suggestion would be appreciated!

    Hi Andrea,

This option is available in the Data Publisher but not (yet) in Data Projects. There is no area to define such settings in Data Projects. I have plans to add such an area but that will be available for Data Forms only. I can add a new option to the Table Settings section in the Data Explorer. The BR would then be added on all pages for that table (including the Data Explorer). Is that an acceptable solution?

    Thanks,
    Peter

Hi Peter, a good solution could be to add an additional option to “Data Explorer” > Table > “settings” > “column settings” > “column type”.

    As now, we have:
    – attachment
    – audio
    – hyperlink
    – ….

and we could also have something like “multiple-lines text”.

In this way, when those particular fields are shown in a:
    – data project (list view)
    – publication

newlines would be replaced with <BR>

Another (additional) option – maybe available only for PRO users – could be to support some kind of “HTML” column type; in this way, you could add a WYSIWYG editor in the “data-entry” view for those particular fields.
