Newsletter blocked by Gmail

    Hi,
    For our last newsletter sent through the plugin on November 25, 2022, no Gmail addresses went through (which for us means 1/6th of our mailing!).

    The error message was roughly the following :
    host gmail-smtp-in?l?google.com[64.233.167.26] said: 550-5.7.26 This message does not pass authentication checks (SPF and DKIM both 550-5.7.26 do not pass). SPF check for [cist?cnrs.fr] does not pass with ip: 550-5.7.26 [195.220.198.91].To best protect our users from spam, the message 550-5.7.26 has been blocked.

    I thought the plugin was a good way to avoid this…
    Our last mailing in February was all right.

    Hi, you’re sending from a server that is not correctly listed as “allowed” in your DNS. That should be done by your provider, usually.
    Which method do you use to send emails? In your WP do you have an SMTP plugin?

    Apparently, looking at the DNS, the SPF does not allow the address 195.220.198.91 to send email for your domain, the record allows only the mx addresses.

    You can try to ask the provider to add the +a to the SPF record rules.
