    Hi,

I have been using a newsletter plugin to send emails to my list of subscribers whenever a new post is published which works fine, however now I’ve added some custom post types these ones do not trigger an email when published.

The Pro version of the plugin I’m using does allow CPT’s to be sent so I know it’s possible, but the cost of the pro version is a too expensive just for this one feature. Can anyone recommend an alternative mail plugin which does support CPT’s, or another way I could maybe solve this please?

    Thanks

What newsletter plugin are you using now. I’m kind of curious how they maybe wire things up, and if it’s possible to intercept for other post types as well, without the pro version.

Beyond that, I don’t really have a lot of experience with many newsletter plugins, so I don’t have any immediate recommendations.

I’m using MailOptin at the moment, it seems like a great plugin for building subscription popups and designing the emails which get sent out etc. I had a look through the code but couldn’t figure out where it was that defined the post type. Would be amazing if you were interested in it to have a look!

Assuming https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/mailoptin/ it does look like they have a lot of WordPress hooks and filters in place that could be used, but too many for me to process and say “hey, this is one you could” etc. That said, I am wondering if they have customizer settings around post types, since it seemed like some spots that I did see “post type” mentioned, it also included “customizer” wording. Just some food for thought.

Thanks a lot for looking into it. I’ve had a look through myself and will give some things a try, although my coding skills are probably best rated as beginner level ??

Will let you know if I manage to get it to work.
