  • thanks mosey… yes, i have the latest version of php now.. still no luck. will try downloading MP again….

i feel your pain syncbox… that’s wut i am trying to avoid… don;t want to tinker with the database that much… back everything up before u play with it…. ??

hi mosey… just tried uploading mailpress 1.5.1 and nothing, same error:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /home/miguelr2/public_html/wp-content/plugins/mailpress/MailPress.php on line 93

could there be a problem on my side that i am not aware of? i am actually having problems with other scrips that require access to the .htaccess file and since WP is using those files, my other scripts are not working well, they seem not to like WP…. i posted that issue last week

@mrosario: Not sure if this will be any help, but v1.7 of mailpress has just been released, so perhaps it might be worth trying that?

I’ve just tried to activate this on my local 2.6 installation, and it seemed to work fine.

And re: Subscribe2; I received an email back from the developer to say that you can put HTML into the template. It gets stripped out if the individual user chooses ‘plain text’ as their subscription setting rather than HTML. I think this is why when I tried it the other day, I couldn’t get it to work. Hope this helps.

thanks mosey but no luck… i think its a problem on my side… ill be re-uploading WP once again to see if it gets resolved… wish me luck!

    Good luck! ??

p/s: The developer has confirmed that a customised version of Subscribe2 which allows HTML for all subscribers (not just registered users) can be provided at a cost, which is currently at $40.00.

is it also possible not to send emails per post or on a daily/weekly/monthly basis?

i just need a plugin with subscribe function and which lists the email adresses and with a feature to send emails to all the subscribers….
