In the Sending Options tab’s Status, there is either Confirmed or Unconfirmed status. There should be a third option for Both.

We ran FB ad campaign and some have signed up through FB and some of them also went directly on the site. Those who signed up directly on the site may not have confirm their subscription. So now we have both confirmed from the FB ad campaign and unconfirmed from the site and both are on the same list. I can’t send the newsletter to people on the same list at the same time. The only workaround is to create 2 newsletters, but it seems redundant. I think an option to send to both statuses would be ideal.

Thank you for your great plugin.

Hi, the unconfirmed status is there exactly to not send those address emails since they are not validated. You should find the way to have all valid addresses stored as confirmed. It’s not clear to me why you have some addresses stored as not confirmed when they come form a facebook campaign. How did you setup all that?

The FB leads are supposedly all “confirmed”. However, many of them went to the site and registered again. The site sends out activation emails. If they didn’t activate, they become unconfirmed. When I uploaded the list as confirmed, they will remain as unconfirmed.

I didn’t change their status because this way I know who is not receiving email from us even though they are from FB.

When you upload you should set “update” as action so the status should be updated.

Hi, still not fully clear to me. A lead from facebook is confirmed by definition. So when you import it, it should be set as confirmed. If that lead was already in, it will be confirmed since facebook “grants” for it. It can then be added to a list during the import to indicate it is from facebook.

When you send a newsletter you can set it to not target who is in the “facebook” list.

Using the status to segment the subscriber is wrong from the implementation of the status “flag” inside newsletter.

    Stefano.

    Hi Stefano,

The FB lead supposed to be “confirmed”. As I have mentioned, some of the people went through FB lead form and also register on the site. If they didn’t confirm using the activation (double opt-in), they will show as “unconfirmed”. When I import the FB list, these ones will remain as “unconfirmed” if I don’t check the overwrite status box. Now I will end up with the full FB list but some are confirmed and some are unconfirmed. When I send the newsletter to this FB list, I have to send it twice.

So why when you import them you do not overwrite the status making them confirmed?
Which is the problem doing that?

If I overwrite the status, I won’t be able to know that these ones can’t actually receive the newsletter.

I actually tried sending a small group that is on my FB leads but also signed up on my site but didn’t confirm. When I sent a newsletter to these people, the open rate is 0. That means they just aren’t receiving my newsletter at all. FB leads won’t be useful if these people can’t receive newsletter from me.
