"next page" and "previous page" and Google
-
Hi guys, I have just moved to WordPress from Blogger over the past few weeks and currently have over 20 blogs.
I have been using the Heatmap theme for its look and for its SEO features. I have added the XML Sitemap plugin and thought that for indexing I would be just fine, but have ran into some issues.
Google is indexing many extra pages such as myblog.com/page/17. Then I realised that this was due to the “next page” and “previous page”. This is concerning me regarding duplicate content issues with Google and I currently display one post per page with no excerpts.
I take it this could cause a major problem and I really don’t want my rankings to suffer. I don’t know if there is an ideal plugin to use or perhaps some code to be added to prevent these pages from being indexed?
Just thought that this would be the best place to seek advice before I run ahead and start making the wrong changes. Thanks for your help, Ryan.
