nextgen albums and galleries horizontal

I used to have my albums and galleries all aligned horizontally. They are now vertical and I can’t seem to get my code to work.
I am using a twenty eleven child theme and have copied .nggallery.css to it and made my changes there but they are not taking affect. Any help would be appreciated!
