Nextgen alternative that is less memory sapping?

  • One of my WP sites has archives dating back to 2005, to the tune of close to 3,700 posts and 500+ Nextgen galleries. I suppose this makes this a bit of an advanced question.

    As some of you may know, the Nextgen plugin is a massive resource hog when it is heavily used. Is there a plugin that will work with the existing WP gallery feature to create album/gallery pages, that is not so memory intensive?
