    Hi,

I’ve created a multisite installation and activated NextGEN for the fist time. It seems to be configured for the old WPMU because it creates folders and files in a folder called blogs.dir that the WP documentation says isn’t used in Multisites.

Anyway, I crated the blogs.dir folder and set full read write execute permissions and NextGEN creates folders. However there are several issues in a SUBDOMAIN:

    (1) The Manage Albums -> Edit albums is not fully active. I can tab through but not use the mouse to move through the form fields, and I cannot click the OK or Cancel button. Everything has a greyed-out look. However, hitting enter or using the Escape key works to select or cancel the action. Hence albums and galleries can be created.

    (2) Images are not uploaded to the file folders created on the server by NextGEN. The uploader goes through the motions and shows 100% complete then displays the message “Upload complete
    0 images were uploaded”

    (3) Files of certain dimensions are completely rejected (1024 and above) but there is no apparent setting for the maximum dimensions or size of a file to be uploaded. (No multisite upload file size restrictions are set.)

    (4) Trying to insert an album in a page using the button in the text editor fails because there are no options displayed under “Select a display type” or any other field of the “Display Galleries” tab.

With help in getting past these hurdles I’ll be able to tell if NextGEN works.

    Thanks.

    Mark.

  • We just purchased NextGen Gallery Pro and expected to be able to set upload folders per site. This is an extremely critical issue for us as well. Please advise on fix.

    Hi Cais,

Thanks for your response. I posted the report and send login credentials.

Before I did I deactivated all plugins, including JetPack and tried but it made no difference.

@starapple – Thanks! We received your report (obvious to us, since we also seem to have sorted this out as a possible plugin conflict with s2Member writing to the .htaccess file).

Thanks for your prompt support photocrati. Not many plugin authors are so responsive and helpful.

It seems when we install new plugins we should immediately examine our htaccess file for any changes. In this case it was completely overwritten an affected more than one plugin. Deactivating any or all plugins therefore would not have uncovered that it was indeed a plugin problem, even if that plugin was not causing code conflicts.

It also means we should do backups of htaccess when making changes to WP or installing plugins.
