NextGen and WPML

    I’m using NextGen 2.0.66.37 and WPML 3.1.8.4.

    I have created an album that contains a few galleries. Each gallery is attached to a page. I want a different page title and URL for each language (eng & fr), so I have translated each gallery page. Both the original and the translation contain the same gallery (same shortcode), but have different page titles and URLs. I’ve also created a French translation for the album page. Using the WPML switcher to switch between English and French on the pages is fine. The problem is at the album level.

    How do I get the French version of the album page to list the French versions of the galleries? Right now, it lists the English.

    If I need to do it by creating a separate album, how do I get it to link to the French pages (since there’s only one instance of the actual gallery)?

    @juliewaterhouse – The problem with the blank IGW is more important to resolve as it points to other possible underlying issues that may be affecting how WPML will be working with NextGEN Gallery.

    I would suggest going back to a baseline and seeing if you can find a conflict with another active plugin or (hopefully not) your current theme.

    Hi Cais,

    If I had to guess, I’d say there may be a conflict with the Dante theme, which has its own built-in galleries. It’s a live site with no dev environment set up, so I can’t test that theory. Since my investigation is on my client’s dime, the fastest solution was to switch to a different gallery plugin that plays nicely with Dante.

    @juliewaterhouse – We just released a quick beta that has a fix for a compatibility issue with WPML that was causing the NextGEN insert gallery window to be blank. If you want to try that, you can download it here:
