NextGEN Basic ImageBrowser navigation

  • Using the NextGEN Basic ImageBrowser I find that when expanding the image to zoom I am not able to navigate using the keyboard arrows.

    Is there a custom code or a setting that I can use to establish that functionality?

    Also – The Basic Thumbnails gallery does not navigate to page two using the keyboard arrows. It will navigate through images, but will not forward to the next page of images. Can this be adjusted?

    @bridgetown-marketing – Those would be very interesting new feature ideas, we do not have specific functionality to use keyboard navigation in our pagination functionality or the ImageBrowser display.     That is not entirely true. I have the ability to navigate the basic thumbnail gallery both by using my keyboard and using the arrow in the lightbox – HOWEVER – the last image on the first page does not offer the option to move forward through the pages. That is the issue I am having.

    It is also strange to me, that in the basic thumbnail gallery – when images are opened in the lightbox I am able to navigate using the arrows and keyboard but that same functionality is not available when using the NextGEN Basic ImageBrowser style.

    These are not new functionalities – they are inconsistent. I need to know if there is a way for me to add in customization to get this functionality or I need to find some other plugin to use.

    @bridgetown-marketing – You are still referencing two different code bases … the Lightbox libraries may offer keyboard navigation but we are not the authors of those libraries, we only bundle them with NextGEN Gallery as a convenience.

    Also, if you are referring to the last image the Lightbox Effect not continuing into the next page of images from your thumbnails display then you will most likely need to turn on the “Add hidden images” option for those specific displays.
