I upgraded two sites to WP 3.0 today, both running different themes and plugins. NextGen 1.5.5 broke the dashboard (blank white screen) in both. Yes, I deactivate the plugins first. After deleting NextGen, I even removed the database tables and tried a fresh install. Both times – blank white screen. I use NextGen quite often so this is unfortunate. If anyone can suggest an similar gallery plugin that works in 3.0 that would be great.

  • I’m using NextGen gallery with WordPress 3.0 and everything works just fine.

Are you sure NextGen is responsible.

P.S. site is https://www.darkrealmfox.com just in case you want to see that i am indeed using NextGen.

Perhaps its more of a theme issue.

Two different site using two different themes. Both were running NextGen previously. After the upgrade the dashboard was broken until NextGen was removed.

Try the Suffusion theme and NextGen as i can guarantee that theme and NextGen work together with WordPress 3.0.

It could just be NextGen and that particular theme and WordPress 3.0 as it does work with my theme and 3.0.

I know there are other type plugins but i think NextGen is one of the best, it also gets updated still so it’s possible if you have dropped in to the plugin page and mentioned the themes involved they might take a look.

Well it seems to be a conflict between Google Analyticator and NextGen. I can run either separately, but not both at the same time in 3.0. I had been running both together previously.

This was a memory problem, not a problem with Google Analyticator, NextGen, or any other plugin. Previous versions of WordPress included the line “define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’32M’);” within the settings.php file. It is no longer their in 3.0. By adding the line to the config.php file and increasing the memory, all plugins were activated successfully.
