• We are using nextgen, and on the Manage Galleries page, we see “Create new Page”, but it has a dropdown to show all other pages.

Is there a way to put links to the other galleries dynamically with the main gallery we create? Or do we have to have /gallery, /another-gallery, /yet-another-gallery?

OR does this plugin do it so you have the gallery page, then /gallery/another-gallery?

Just need to know how to manage multiple galleries and the navigation to them please.

  • You could create an album of all of the galleries and place that on your gallery page.

@simon_a6 – Although I am not really clear on what you are describing I am leaning towards the idea that you might want to look at using albums (collections of galleries) … if this is not the case, can you provide any additional details to explain what you are looking to accomplish?

    Thanks!

    You are correct.
They want to add multiple albums. Not sure how that differs from multiple galleries tho?

@simon_a6 – Albums are collections of other albums and/or galleries. For example:

    Album
    - sub-album -- gallery
    - ------------ -- gallery
    - sub-album -- gallery
    - gallery
    - sub-album -- sub-album --- gallery
    - ------------ -- gallery

The essence is that each branch of the album - sub-album -- gallery hierarchy ends in a gallery.

Sorry, you have kind of lost me now.
    I create a Gallery. It’s done.
I want to create another gallery – does that have to go on another page, and if so, would that be domain.com/second-gallery?

And when you create another gallery and do “Create Page”, why does it give a dropdown of existing pages?!

@simon_a6 – You can insert galleries into existing pages or posts as the case may be. If you want two galleries in the same page then you can either insert two displays or choose both galleries for the same display …

… when you create a page and choose an existing page it will add the gallery page as a child-page of the one you chose, otherwise the new page is created as a top-level page.
