• After I upgraded to Nextgen Gallery 2.0 (used in WP3.6) I have created a new gallery and stored 560 images in it.
Pagination or not, the gallery does not show more than 500 images in the gallery.
I’ve rolled back to Version 1.9.13 and instantly all pictures are visible.

After the rollback I noticed a significant performance boost in loading the thumb nails, looks like 2.0 is much slower in loading pages with much pictures than version 1.9.13.

Some can test and check, and hopefull solve the issue, as I’m impressed about the thumbnail effects in 2.0

  • same for me +1

It is. As I wrote in another post, memory consumption of V2.0.x is much higher than in V.1.9.x. I needed to increase PHP memory limit to 256M, as album thumbs have not been created from album ~90+.

    Best

+1 for me as well regarding the 500 image limit.

I’m running 2.0.17 on my site and I have a gallery with just under 700 pictures in it…

Any idea on a timescale for a fix?

Have you tried to change the number in other options-> miscellaneous-> max image count?

    I hadn’t, because I hadn’t found the option!!!

Changed now and sorted – Thanks!

    Thanks @tizz!

Does this resolve the issue for everyone else in the thread, too?

Can I request that this ‘feature’ is the subject of a rethink? What purpose does it have? Surely if users have uploaded more than 500 pictures to a gallery it’s because they want they want to see them…

Why is the limit there at all?

Have you tried to change the number in other options-> miscellaneous-> max image count?

    Yes, i tried. Nothing changes!

in beta 2.0.22 — limits 1000 per gallery based on tags. Change number image count in miscellaneous on 5000 — does not work

I have the same problem! The gallery does not show more than 500 images.
I increased PHP memory limit to 256M and changed number image count in miscellaneous on 1000. Nothing changes. NextGEN version 2.0.61.
    Any idea?

All – The 500 image limit is a bit tricky to work with … or perhaps not as obvious as it should be. Either way we will be reviewing its functionality based on this type of feedback. Thanks!

Also, changing this value does not necessarily affect existing galleries, especially those inserted via the ATP. In most cases, you will need to re-insert the gallery that is being limited by the value (default 500) set under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous.

After changing the value to a higher limit and re-inserting the gallery all should work correctly for this issue. If it does not please submit a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … referencing this topic may also prove helpful) so we can have a closer look at what might be happening and try to get it sorted out on your site.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

Thank you! After re-inserting the gallery it works!
