Go to gallery.php inside the “view” folder of the nextgen plugin folder.

Add this span before the closing the div of “ngg-gallery-thumbnail” somewhere around line 45:

<span><?php echo $image->caption ?></span>

The final codes should look like this from line 41 to line 47:
