NextGen Gallery and MailPoet Newsletters Conflict

    I wanted to post my findings since I’ve finally discovered the issue that I have been having.

    ISSUE / PROBLEM:
    While using MailPoet, after any action (such as click Save or another button in MailPoet), my site would redirect to the home page and I could not access the WordPress WP dashboard. The only way I could get back into the WordPress Admin Dashboard was to quite my browser and then open it back up. I finally concluded that the conflict was between Mailpoet Newsletters and NextGen Gallery plugins. Furthermore, when I disable the NextGen plugin, I did not have any issues. So, the problem lies there (with the Next Gen plugin.)

    RESOLUTION:
    Disable the Nextgen Gallery and use something like Nextcellent Gallery. Or, hopefully, Nextgen developers can figure out the issue.

    All software, wordpress, plugins are all up-to-date. It is not a theme problem.

    For some reason, the NextGen plugin is enqueuing scripts on the MailPoet’s page. So, it is not a MailPoet issue but rather NextGen.

  • Are you including NextGEN Galleries within the campaign being sent? I ask because Mailpoet uses posts which are then turned into an email. It’s possible that Mailpoet isn’t stripping out javascript or shortcodes that aren’t related to Mailpoet.

    Sorry, perhaps I was not clear on the problem. The issue is not public facing. This issue is within the WP Dashboard.

    Well. This does not seem to be an issue with MailPoet now. I am in the process of developing a new website with Nextgen Gallery and Nextgen Pro Plus plugin (that I just purchased.) The issue is happening within the plugin. I go to upload an image into a gallery and click a button, the page refreshes, and redirects to the home page. I cannot get back into the dashboard unless I quite my browser and re-open. Then I repeat the steps or try to save my work in a gallery and the same thing happens. How are more people not receiving this issue?

    Why do I need to contact the support team directly? Would it not be more beneficial to the community to work out the problem here and get it resolved?

    Still no help from the plugin author. I’ve decided to go with alternative solutions.
