NextGen Gallery: not able to create galleries and add new photos

    I’ve transferred my site from a normal hosting to wordpress.com. Everything seems to work perfectly, except the NextGen gallery plugin. From the page “ngg_addgallery” I’m not able to create galleries or to add photos to already existing galleries. This is the error message displayed: “SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected end of data at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data”.

    I’ve installed the base theme, disabled all plugins and also installed the “Health Check & Troubleshooting” and according to that tool, everything seems to be working perfectly, even though the problem persists. What can I do to solve this error?

    If you open your browser development tools (F12 or right click anywhere on the Add Gallery / Images page and select “inspect element”, reload the page once, go to the “network tab” and then select the “XHR” tab you will get debugging info on what is happening in the background.

    Can you please do that then attempt to upload a single image; when it starts a new entry will be created that you can click on to examine. Then go to the “Response” tab it will tell you what the server has sent back — we’re expecting a certain formatted bit of text but something else (not that format) is coming through instead. Please copy / paste that response here, thanks.
