• I have used NextGen Gallery before and I have always had success. This time for some reason it just does not want to work properly. I have set it to use the Thickbox effect, but instead of listing the thumbnails in rows, it just spits them out as one long list, one after the other. Then once you click on an image, it activates the loader but it is positioned at the bottom of the screen. Noting ever happens. I have noticed that on other installations the plug-in seems to write two lines of code in the header.php file referencing to the jQuery file in the wp-includes folder and the thickbox files in the wp-includes folder. This is not happening on this installation and I am not sure why. Adding those two lines by hand also does not resolve the problem.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    wp_head() was the issue.

Thanks for pointing that out. Great plug-in. It saves me tons of time.

I’m having the same issue, except my theme already has the wp_head.

here is a link to a gallery page. everything works except when you click on the thumbnail…the loader shows up but never displays anything –

however, when i click on thumbnails thru the gallery backend (in WP admin area) the images load normally.

i love your plugin and greatly appreciate your work, but would really like to solve this issue ASAP.

    thanks in advance!

    Hi boilr,
both scripts lightbox and thickbox are called and prototyp and scriptacolous and jquery included this can cause problems.

    bee,

thanks for replying. unfortunately, im not quite sure what you are saying?!

sorry to be such a noob, but if you wouldn’t mind being a little more specific or add some detail, i’d greatly appreciate it.

is this a plugin issue? wordpress? theme? code?

any and all support would be wonderful!

    thanks in advance!

p.s. i (stupidly) posted another gallery in hopes that it would work…it doesn’t either (obviously) – https://www.boilr.net/2009/03/10/hampton-comes-back-alive-photos/

    Hi,
most likely a plugin issue it seems at first glance that there is a lightbox plugin active and also thickbox (for the popup effects of pictures) take a look in your plugin section. The gallery -admin part ->gallery->options->effects seems to be configured to use thickbox. So you might need to deactivate the lightbox plugin under plugins if its there or try to make nggallery to use lightbox instead. It could also be a theme issue, to check this out you might just change to another theme and see if that produces another behaviour.

    best regards

    bee,

thanks again for your reply. the problem was I was calling an alternate jquery.js file in the header causing a conflict with the plugin. seems to be working “normal” again.

    thanks for your help.
