• I installed Nextgen Gallery and imported an image folder on my website. I want to get the gallery displayed on the sidebar as a widget but all it gives me are text links to the full sized pictures, no thumbnails. I checked the gallery and it doesn’t show any thumbnails in there either. How do I make it generate thumbnails?

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, going to an older version of Nextgen gallery and trying to generate the thumbnails again but nothing happens.

  • Check to see if you have the GD Image library for PHP installed, or that the permissions on your gallery folder allow PHP to write files.

It’s actually probably the latter, so start there.

I tried messing with my permissions on my gallery folder and no luck since it still would not generate thumbnails. How do I check if GD image library is installed?
