• I finished a new installation using WP 2.7 and tried installing the plugin NextGen Gallery.
    When I try to activate the plugin I get the following error message:

    Warning: load_dependencies(/homepages/32/d267982329/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/lib/core.php) [function.load-dependencies]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /homepages/32/d267982329/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggallery.php on line 223

    Fatal error: load_dependencies() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/homepages/32/d267982329/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/lib/core.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php’) in /homepages/32/d267982329/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggallery.php on line 223

    Any idea why this is happening?

  • No, please delete the plugin folder and reload all files again. If you get the error again, check for permission :

    nextgen-gallery/lib/core.php

    Thank you. I will try that.

    It did not work!
    I deleted the plugins directory, created a new folder called plugins and reinstalled NextGen. I got the same error message.

    When I go to the edit plugin page, I can find the following line:

    require_once (dirname (__FILE__) . ‘/lib/core.php’); // 94.840

    But I don’t know what I am supposed to do with that – you said I should check for permission. How?

    Thank you.

    If the plugin can’t open some files, then you have either a faulty version or you didn’t have set the correct permissions
