NextGen gallery was giving me some problems, so after trying different options, I decided to try resetting the plugin with no luck. Then I made the mistake of trying to uninstall the plugin with plans to install it all over again afterwards.

Problem is now that I have uninstalled the plugin, it still shows on the admin panel menu. I am prompted to update the database, but when doing so it “fails.” I believe it mentioned something about Nextgen still being on the main site.

I would like to full uninstall everything nextgen, and hopefully install it once again.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

  • Hi ryanlam,

I am having similar issues. I uninstalled NextGen gallery and it is still showing in admin panel menu and prompting to update. But there should be nothing left to update so it fails.

Also the uninstall is messing up my sidebar column. And putting widgets on my sidebar that I can no longer delete.

Did you find out how to do a complete uninstall and fix your issues?

I believe with my issue, I missed a simple step. I do not remember exactly, but have you tried going to the plugins section through the control panel, deactivating nextgen, then delete?
